I really don't understand this, but in Central, Southamerica and the caribean this feature is actived. But, anybody knows WHERE is programmed?
Definitelly, this is a software option.

It is probably some legal thing where they are afraid of a US lawsuit from an unintentional closing (say with a child in the car). Since the remote has a range so that it can be used out of line-of-sight, BMW requires you to put the key in the door and turn it to close all windows, sunroof, lock all doors, and arm the alarm. I would like this feature too. If you find out any information on enabling it, please post.

Many software features are controlled by the "country code" setting which is dowloaded to the car during manufacturer. In the case of cars for USA and Canada the country codes (02 & 07) cause the comfort close feature to be "unavable" - does not even appear under the car/key memory codable choices.

My understandding is that it is becaue of USA legal fear of law suits.
Does not make sense because they car also has the anti trap , and load sensing feature which prevents trapping injuries.

We need to keep asking for it.

Cheers
Jim Cash
