The X5 3.0 has stalled 5 times in the last two days , in heavy traffic and in starting a tight turn. The "air mass sensor" was replaced previously, obviously to no avail..there was also an adjustment made to the RPM...still it stalls, it even stalled as I was driving it into the repair bay at the dealer.

What am I supposed to do, the dealer in Toronto , Town & Country cannot seem to fix it,...I am afraid that the X5 will stall and cause an accident..in which case,BMW Canada, every technician who has worked on car, the salesman and the owner of dealership, will be dragged into a very expensive, lengthy, embarrassin lawsuit.. I am sick of this, I have never had a car do this..I think a dozen or so notices to respond/appear in front of a discovery of fact would get their attention. Perhaps BMW Canada could break my lease and save themselves the hassle..or just replace it with one that isn't going to get me or family injured / killed by a problem they refuse to fix correctly.

I am venting here, I apologize, but if they cannot fix it my new hobbie will be watching Town & Country employees throw money at their lawyers ( I get my legal work done for free) until they fix this known and extremely dangerous problem with my car...

Something wrong there.

As the other message says this is a known problem.

It occurs when the engine is at or close to idle speed and you add load by turning the steering wheel.

There were some original tentative fixes that did not always work.

I know the dealership in London Ontario (Grand Touring Cars) was aware of the fix many months ago - it has to do with reporgraming or replacement of the engine computer.

Rather than getting everybody scared of lawsuits (that just puts everyone in a defensive postion) ask to have an appointment with the BMW rep - or the Head BMW Technical liason rep if required.

Just explain that you understand that it is/was a common problem and you want yours fixed.

Cheers
