I saw a post on this board last week that indicated when the AC is on, the fan just behind the bumper (the big one you can see) should engage so that air is pulled through. I think this fan also helps keep the engine cool when it is needed (?). Well, my car felt rather hot after a short trip, so I started the car, turned on the AC, turned up the blower and no fan movement. I watched for awhile and the fan twitched several times, but never turned on. It was like a signal was being sent, but the fan didn't turn on. Nada. Nothing. My X5 is not within the built date or the VIN spread for the recall. Before I freak out, should the fan always engage when the AC is on?
