While you're at it, why not switch to the glove box CD changer. It works well and is very convenient.
Just bought a slightly used X5 3.0, with an Alpine IVA-C800 Monitor (Navigation/audio) dashboard unit, the Navagation system (NVE-N851A) and an Alpine six CD changer in the rear.

I would like to replace this with the original BMW cassette radio. My car had the premium DSP upgrade.

Any thoughts why I shouldn't do this??

Thanks for the reply. I would like to keep the glove box for my gloves and makeup here in Southern California. Ha ha.
