The engineer says it isn't ready, but the marketing folks say we gotta get it out to the consumer now. The bean counters are looking for the returns on the R&D. This leads to what ever they got, ship it now, and the bugs will get cleaned up latter.

SAV/SUV must make have a departure from the traditional BMW design/manufacturing process. We who bought in went for the bleeding edge. Somestimes you can get hung out to dry out there.

Fortunately for me I got a perfect 4.4 SP. I do notice some body panel mis-alignments in a couple of places, but you really have to look to see them. Otherwise I've enjoyed my purchase greatly.

Should you purchase an X5 I hope your experience is as delightful as mine has been.
