OK BMWNA - Come clean!

There's a post here today about a fan fire in a June '01
build!

I have a May '01 3.0.  I checked today, it has a Seimens fan P/N 6 908 124
that from this board, appears to be the bad one.  Also, in posts listing
the VINs, mine isn't listed.  Maybe it was my fault but I trusted that mine
wasn't included due to the lists of VINs here and my date (5/01).  We just
noticed today that the A/C didn't work very well when standing still and that's
why I checked further tonight.  Guess what, my fan DOES NOT ever turn on.

My first bug - a big ugly one I'd say.

Orland Park BMW will be getting a call first thing in the AM and I HOPE they
give me the right answers (yes they know about it, yes they have the part, bring
it in sir and we'll replace it right away).  It's staying parked outside in
any case until fixed.

If nothing else, BMWNA has sure been extremely poor in communicating to it's
buyers what's the story.  I'm sure they're just afraid of the potential news
media frenzy after the Firestone/Ford tragedies, not that this compares in any
way to the devastation those caused, only I'm sire the media would love to hear
stories like these.

You guys want business from reputation, word of mouth and repeat customers?  This aint helpin'.
