it's never to late to cancel your order, you will just lose the deposit. X5 isn't for everyone. now i am keeping my X5 instead of selling it but if i had to do it again , i wouldn't buy an X5. if you want to buy a 'real' bmw for your budget, try new 530i or 330, they are fast, bmw-agile,smooth and very comfortable.

I hate to be lame on this one, but I'm about 1 week from picking up my new 2001 X5 3.0 at the dealership, and I'm starting to wonder if I've made a mistake. I've been reading this forum very regularly for some time now, and have been picking up some very negative vibes lately on the quality of this vehicle. I guess I figured spending $45k on a car would get me a great (and very reliable) car (I know many of you have spent more), but I'm reading more cons than pros lately.

I've always been a fan of BMW (this is my first), and have been very excited about getting my car. I guess I'm just looking for re-assurance that this was money well spent.
