The Weathertechs for the front are a better than OEM fit (compared to BMW's carpet ones) and they fit totally wall to wall and I'm 100% happy with them. The rears are the same high quality and yes they are a generic size that you cut as needed and they don't cover 100% of the carpeted area like the fronts.
Obviously I haven't cut mine yet.  Also, I haven't found anyone making a 1 piece
rubber mat for the back seat to cover the hump too. I have 3 kids and this is important especially in the winter. The cargo
area mat from Weathertech is also absolutely a perfect fit and a great product.
