Loophole - hitch question (archive)

Hi. Was that your 3.0i with the aftermarket hitch? I am calling around to have one installed, but am concerned about the appearance of the area surrounding the hitch when all is done. I am thinking they will have to cut the black oval insert for the hitch to go through. Is this correct? I just need something for a class 3 bike rack. No wiring needed. Any tips you can share about the installation? Thanks.
