I can't see spending $1000 on the BMW hitch, especially now that I know the oval insert is no longer used even after its installation. The modified oval insert in the photo of the 3.0 with the drawtight hitch looked real good to me. Did you cut it? If so, what cutting device did you use? And how did you smooth the rough edges? I would prefer not to leave that gaping hole. Thanks.
