brakes check out OK by the mechanic, this is "normal". The dealer could spend a bunch of money trying to fix this, and it won't make your brakes work any better. I think the reason your dealer gave is completely wrong. The more metallic they are generally the less brake dust, and dust has nothing to do with squeal. The squeal is usually caused by the vibration of the pad in the caliper, and there is a goop that is applied to the back during installation to help prevent them from vibrating causing the squeal, but even when they squeal the brakes are OK...it's just a bothersome noise.
