We've had our (3.0i) Sport for a couple months now and still love it. It's my wife car, but I get to drive it, occasionally. I drive a 98 M3/2 with a few mods and the X5 continues to amaze me.

The in-line 6 is smooth as a turbine and the Steptronic auto trans is a marvel. As far as power, the (3.0) doesn't give up much to the (4.4) because of the extra weight of the V8. I drove both before ordering and decided that I'd rather have a loaded (3.0i) than a marginally opted (4.4) that only provides a few 10ths improvement on 0-60. BTW, the (3.0) uses exactly the same trany and brakes as the (4.4) so they should hold up just fine and the (3.0) stops better than the (4.4).

Just enjoy it.

Ken
