However, even the X5 3.0i with sports package can outhandle the ML55 any day!! The X5 4.4i with sports package already runs circles around the ML55! Anyhow, if you have the money, get the X5 4.4i and then tune it by dropping in a M5 engine in it. Just a thought!
Well, I gotīa admit Iīm really dissapointed by what BMW is doing here.
Anyway, here is the pricing list oktober 2001 for Germany:
X5 4.6is : 150.598,91 DM or 77.000 Euro (gulp!)
(ok...ok...but there sure is a lot of equipment included, or?.. letīs see...)
Areodynamic-Paket, Airbags all around (6), Thief warning, ABS, CBC, Arm rest moveable, interiour light, Mirrors heated moveable retracktable dimming, outside temperature,... and so on and on...
Itīs easier the other way around...
It will not have included (without extra price):
Alu-Steps, reling, wood, moonroof, clima-comfort-glass, fond-climate, retrack.floor, navi (!! yes, NO navi), PDC, hifi prof., better radio (only standart), Tire pressure warning, seat heating back, electr.back seat, ski sack, dark glass, speech steering, phone
If it had at least the navi also included for that price, Iīd say I would keep my order... but I would have to wait for at least a year from now on...
Iīm really considering the 2002 ML55 with the facelift again now... it has nearly a liter more engine volume and much much much more tuning potential... for 10.000 DM I can get a ML55 with 405 Hp and stiffer suspension, no problem at all... even at my local MB-Dealer. Looks like MB is winning the race for my next car now. Since these SAV/SUVīs arenīt made for racing anyway, I prefer to have at least a lot of power. (Isnīt the ML not even lighter than the X5 ??..)
I gotta think a lot about this, cause Iīd like to have a little money left for a little red racer, if I find the right one...
But weīre going to keep our status quo with BMW, as it seems :
cars : only MB
bikes: only BMW (even my new Mountainbike is a BMW ;-) )
