Take the car to the dealer regarding the oil leaks. I had the same problem (one of many)and found out that there is a crack in the oil canister which causes this and that you may be driving with very little oil in your car. Make sure you watch it after they fix it. Mine broke again the day after it came out of the shop.


Hello. I just purchased a 3.0 X5. So far I'm very impressed with the car except for a few nick-nacks that I am expriencing like the following:

1. "Bubbles" found on the leather side-door panel (both doors)
2. CD player panel/cover locking intermittently

These are minor problems that I can live with. However, this morning I noticed a couple of oil leaks on the garage coming from the X5 which prompted me to write this letter.

QUESTION: Please advise if there are any engine problems that I should be aware of or any problems in general that I should expect. Is there a website that lists known problems of the BMW X5 (V-6)? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
