Sorry for the confusion - I've got a 10/99 build 2000 740iL and BMWNA engineering group is stating (as of last week) that they are working on a retro cable for pre-1/00 build cars that will allow the voice module to work (due in September). The cabling across all BMW lines is identical (just phased in at different points usually leading with the M5 or 7 series product lines). 7 Series produced on/after 1/00 have the connector - they then phased the connector in across the rest of the line - some at model year breaks and some in the middle of the year. Since X5 has the most easily accessible connector (no need to remove any panels in rear) - posted question here to get inputs - any help would be greatly appreciated - Thanks!
