I live in Germany in Kaufbeuren, which is only about 20km away from Buchloe. Alpina wasn´t only founded in Kaufbeuren (some of them still living here?), they´re still sitting in Buchloe and I managed to get some insider-info about the 4.6 over a 3. person from them.
Well, I had to promise not to tell anything, but let´s say the engine is propably going to need good juice to work (98 Okt!), which is available everywhere here in Germany. (We call it "Super Plus")
I don´t remember from my last vacation seeing this fuel being offered anywhere in USA, but I could be wrong.
So the problem is the quality of your fuel (same problem with your diesel as Mercedes isn´t for example, offering the ML400CDI in USA, which has 250 hp 560Nm Torque and only needs 10.5 l/100km!!!) as far as I understood it.
And they ARE having trouble finding those missing hp in the customized 4.6 engine, belive me!
But I´m pretty sure they´ll manage this problem.
