X3? (archive)

I know it's kind of early but does anyone know anything about the X3? An X5 is a bit big and a bit expensive, with a new 330ci on the way, and I was hoping perhaps an X3 would fit in my price range for my girlfriend. Thanks for any help that can be provided.
