Saw my first diesel X5 today. As well as the side badge which says 3.0d, the other way of telling is to look at the rear where there is no visible exhaust pipes - looks very strange. Haven't driven one but have been told that its very different to drive from the petrol cars due to the heavier engine which makes it handle differently.


got my diesel on Saturday. Very pleased, needs loosening up a bit but oodles of low down torque/poke.
Clearly less power than the 4.4i but not that different to drive than the 3.0i. Drives very well.
Just need to find an OEM towbar that's less than the 800 quid for the BMW version!
