for whatever they can, whenever they can. There is no formula you can apply for the value of a car. I've checked with Car Point and NADA, as Andrew suggested and find a $5k discrepancy between the two services on the price of a '99 Chrysler Ltd. NADA was $5k higher than Car Point????? I'm going to try to find some other services and get an average before I go to sell/trade it on a new one. As far as your dealer's having linked to a service which they ignore - there's nothing that can be done about that except to do your research and then, well armed, go after them and make YOUR deal.

Look at edmunds true market value for trade ins. When I was selling my M, it was the closest to real world values that I found. Even then they were about 1K higher than the best dealer offer.
