About to finalize my purchase and need your feedback.

We have a Ford Explorer XLT, 6 cylinder and we really would like a lot more punch in acceleration, so we are thinking of going with:

4.4
Ti/Blk
Sport Pkg
Prem Pkg
19" Y Alloy Wheels
HKardon Prem System
Heated Seats

Sport Pkg?

We have been reading alot of folks on this board do not feel the Sport package is worth it, although some do, but the majority, especially the 3.0 owners did not buy this, perhaps its more of financial decision, vs a performance consideration.

Some Reviews say the ride is too hard, I have test driven both, w and w/o the Sport package and I did not feel it was extra hard ride, but then again the test was on fairly even pavement. I do not plan to drive on uneven surface roads.

Heated Seats and Heated Steering Wheel?

Why would I want these. We could not test this at the dealer since its the wrong time of the year to really tell what the difference is all about. Our first reaction is if you already have the heat on in the X5, then why would you need Heated Seats?

HK Premium Stereo?

We really can not decide. We have a great stereo system at home, but is the extra $1K really worth it. Should we look at an aftermarket solution? We love a nice sound and do not expect this system to rival a home theatre system at home, but why do some folks criticize it and say not to buy it?

19" Alloy.

We love the look of these! Our dealer says we do not have to buy an extra set of Snow Tires, since we live in the NYC, LI area where we receive a lot less snow than other parts of the country.

thanks in advance.

Bruce
