OK - If its already in flames I guess you're probably too late! Mine hadn't quite got to that stage. "Pop the Hood" I think that's what you say? Facing the engine, look to the left of the fan - I found three different cables that connect into the fan - I just pulled the connecting plugs to all three and the fan stopped glowing straight away. - You can still drive the car but I suggest getting it checked A.S.A.P. BMW emergency services guy isolated the fan so only the Air Con isn't working but he did have to reconnect one or possibly two of the cables as they affect the engine management system. He did say however it was just as well that the cables had been disconnected when they were, otherwise - well who knows!!!!

I will post an update once I've spoken to BMW GB!
