Did you know that heavy braking = brighter lights! (archive)

According to manual, under emergency braking conditions or when ABS is activated, not only does the normal brake lights go on, but also the tail lights for added brightness. I guess this means the lights used at night-time. Anyone somehow confirmed this or followed another X5 to test it out?
