X5 problems and poor BMW service (archive)

My 2001 BMW X5 3.0 keeps giving me problems - first it was the thermostat, than the engine had to be replaced and now it's the differential. The kind of service I am receiving from both the dealer and BWM customer service is very unsatisfactory. Has anybody else experienced similar problems? What are my options at this point?
