Received the Post for the Blue Connector for installing the Voice Recognition on a 5-Series. Spent an hour or so looking for the connector in my March 2000 X5 and could not find the connector.

Have any 2000 X5 owners been able to install the Voice Recognition Module. Is so, is the connect the same Blue per the 5-Series instructions?

MotorTrend review of 2000 X5 states the 2000's should have Voice Recognition for the Nav Unit.

My X5 has a pre-wired Microphone, (so it when I was hard-wiring on Radar Detector.

There is now a retrofit SES cable for your X5 . My 2001 X5 car was built in 04/2000 and was also missing the elusive "blue connector" The adapter cable is a quick fix and works great.

BTW I also added the BMW/Motorola digital to analog compensator to the 8000 telephone system with marked improvements to the phone reception in fringe areas.

Beverly Hills BMW (310-358-7800)had several of these retrofit cables in stock. Ask for John in parts.
