I am interested in anyone's experience with self-leveling rear suspension on a 3.0i. First I am confused whether it is air or hydraulic?? Below is one description from the BMW website but I have seen it called air suspension elsewhere.???

Do you trade off anything in the way of handling or anything else (other than $700) for this option? Is is a good idea for trailering with a 300 lbs tongue weight??

Thanks. Blurb from BMW website: Whenever this system detects extra weight on the rear springs, hydraulic pressure is applied to special shock absorber/leveling units, bringing the vehicle back to its normal ride height. A rear anti-roll bar is also included to maintain a taut ride quality.
