3.91 compared to the 3.64 in the 4.4. I believe quite a bit of the acceleration comes from the increase in these numbers. I remember a few months ago I was chastised for considering changing to the 3.0 gears (I think they are 4.10 or something). This is a classic hod rodders mod for quicker acceleration without going into the engine for extra hp. We actually have the advantage with AWD compared to rear drive cars. I'm not saying that I'm considering it just that it wasn't an insane idea when I mentioned it. BMW doing this to the 4.6 just tells me I'm not as insane as you guys think. ;-)
