need help regarding the priceof a new X5 3.0 (archive)

what exactly is the base invoice price for the 3.0i? i know the MSRP is 38,900 and my dealers best offer is only $600 below that, does that sound okay, shouldn't i be expecting a better deal?
any other general cautions/ comments??
