BMW V8's have a reputation for being rough on automatics. The BMW CCA "Roundel" has had quite a few letters in the technical section regarding older (mid 90's) automatics. They always revolve around a 540 or 735/740/750. I do not know how the steptronic will hold up. By the way, did you know it was made by GM?
