If non DSP, it's simpler because you're only dealing with analog connections in addition to the power and data connector to the car's data bus. You can have a relay toggle one or the other, and you can control the relay by a switch in the cockpit.
If DSP, you'll need to toggle the 3 pin power+data connector and the coax connection to the DSP. This is more complicated because you're dealing with a high frequency digital S/PDIF signal and you want to avoid reflections that would cause jitter and mar the sound.
In either case, it might be possible to simply duplicate the power+data connection, and just get away with toggling the outputs. In this (untested) case, both changers would react to commands sent by the head unit (i.e. both would play, change CDs, skip tracks, etc.) in tandem, but you'd decide to which you want to listen.

Can more than one CD changer be install in the X5. My other car, Nissan 300ZX, has a Sony 10 disc changer, so I am use to having access to more than 6 CDs. Does anyone have experience adding another 6-disc changer.
