Called selling dealer which is an hour from home, says he forgot - his fault. He would arrange for pickup and drop off of vehicle if I didn't want to drive there. Nearby dealer says he will charge $50. Selling dealer is paid by BMW to do all this prework as per this local nearby dealer.

I am waiting for selling dealer to resolve it for me - if he can "pay" over the phone to this local dealer.

I would just say remember to verify for things like this when you pick up the vehicle.



Call ahead and ask if they will charge you;I took mine to the "local",non-selling dealer to have that "feature" removed: <5 mins and a $38.50+tax bill. Can we say "profit center?"
