Thank you for posting this. I asked this question a while ago and got no answer. I do expierience this problem - specifically when under 'load'. Meaning it has already upshifted, I press accelerator, and the response is somewhat lacking in the 3-4k range. Then, approx 4,000 rpm, I have a rush of power than can be heard (exhaust sound changes) and felt.
I have an appt w/dealer this Fri - was going to ask them to check specs - but I think I already know the answer - 'normal'. But I don't think so!
Note: I use 94 octane Sunoco Ultra - so it should not have anything to do with the gas lacking octane.
I have an '01 4.4 Sport, etc.
