I've been shopping for tinting the rear windows and the tailgate - "privacy style". I've talked with a couple places already. One point that concerns me is the 3M film they say will not "stick" to the dotted part of the windows and will show a slightly different color.

Any suggestions of products and insallers in the Seattle area that can do if factory like or better (if possible)? What about the spray on products (I've heard mixed reviews some years ago).

Every tinting establishment will tell you that the "Dots" will not stick "as well" to the dots. It's nothing to be alarmed about, It's normal. The end result is very minimal. I had mine done and you really can't tell any difference. Just make sure you go to a reputable place and get the warranty papers with it. They will not guarantee the "Dots" , but the X5 does not have a large band of the dots like other vehicles.
