I washed mine yesterday as well; here's a tip to prevent your hands from freezing and turning numb.

Wear a pair of nitrile/latex surgical gloves. On top of this, wear a pair of heavy rubber gloves (like the type for handling harsh chemicals).
Your hands stay nice and dry and you wont cut up your knuckles cleaning inside the wheels.
