I just drove around in 5" snow for the first time and it went just fine. Went up/dn hills etc. My car has the Michelin Energy 18" tires. It does not snow that much here (RI) but we get 4-6 storms a year. I don't plan on snow tires.Good enough for me.

I have heard that the tires that come with the sport package do not perform very well in the snow. Is that true?
