I am sorry ,but I must beg to differ. While , I have only had my 02 x5 for a little over 8 weeks , I can not say that it performs poor in snow. The the weight of the sav and the combination of power to all four wheel has to make a difference. Snow tires with ANY sav , suv or car with rear or front will make a difference. However , the key to traction is power to the wheels that need it. That is why I think BMW's suck in snow ,but with the X5 and 330 ix I think that turns the tide for BMW. BMW' s perform well because rear wheel drive cars run better than front ,but that is why they suck in snow.

I just can not believe a 5 series car with rear drive will perform better in snow than the X5..
