OT. BMW Motorcycle dealer experience. (archive)

Sorry board, it's kind of off topic but in some ways is related to our beloved cars.
I own BMW R1200C cruiser and there has been recall on that bike from BMW. Very minor thing, not like the aux fan. Precautions from BMW from future lawsuits.
Put the bike to Orange County dealer. (IRV Seaver in city of Orange)After work was done, technician came over the bike with me and for my surprise they also did following:
There was upgrade on the rear light since I bought the bike in 1998 so they replaced the whole light assembly for the new upgrade one,
upgrade on blinkers since I bought the bike,
(turn signals) so they installed new ones,
found out by BMW dealer that my kill switch was not working properly when turned to left position so they replaced it. (I did not even know that I have this problem, I always stop the engine by turning switch to right)
My mufflers were discolorated (from the heat), BMW accepted warranty on it and I got them replaced.
All free of charge, courtesy of BMW. ($1,700 total work)
I know they will charge all this work to BMW factory, but isn't that nice that somebody still cares?

Can you imagine this kind of service from BMW auto dealer, for example when You go to your local dealer and tell him that BMW forgot to put the puddle lights in your mirrors and you want them to have now because on time of purchase it was already available on other X5 with same options and engine size, and BMW factory screwed up?
Or waht about the ambient lights in the door handles that somebody mysteriously have and somebody not - and it has nothing to do with self dimming mirrors option.
Well, wake up Carl and stop dreaming.

That will never happen with BMW auto dealers...
