Everyone has their own reason. Many just want AWD for snow on the roads.

I would have picked up a 540XiT if BMW made one. I have a 540i/6 and really like the car but it's less than practical in the snow. We were just looking for an AWD wagon and the X5 was the best fit for our needs since BMW didn't make an AWD wagon. We didn't like the Audi, Volvo or the E-Class AWD models.
