I was fast reading an article on the new "Rangies" that will be given everything from the 4.4 engine, steptronic shifter, and DSC all of course enginerrred by BMW. The article also went on to say that the front and rear axles are not easily interchanged anyomore (not exactly sure the specifics on that). So it looks like Rangerover is going after the SAV market under guidance from BMW of course.

Is the Land Rover going to remain the offroad vehicle from this line, while the "Rangies" will be kept for city drivers only? If thats the case then why shell out cash for a Range Rover that will under perform an X5 4.4 (with the same engine of course). Range Rover posts a 9 sec 0-60 time.
