If I sell my LandRover I am buying a 3.0, so no flames please. I own a 540i 6spd that of course has the 4.4l and it is so far from essentially the same vehicle. The power is absolutley intoxicating, and if the 4.4 had my 6spd in it I would be buying the 4.4. Net Net nothing pulls or sounds like a V8 not even the wonderful motor in the M3. I will love the 3.0 5spd because of the clutch but I would love the 4.4 if it had one...Money is not the comparison here. Same reasons for 530 vs 540....at least both of those had a manual option....Oh Well......still can't wait for the 3.0.
