But that is the most stupidest thing I have ever seen.
Bro, its a SAV!!!! An all wheel drive one at that.

Well Ed, I guess you didn't get the joke? My friends know I'm crazy but not that crazy; they got the joke almost instantly. I was a bit disturbed about your post. Funny how you chose to post your personal opinion about the mods I've done and the "supposed" ones and say, "no offense" and, "stupidest" in the same sentence. You chose a public forum to voice your opinion instead of e-mailing me. I post my e-mail address faithfully in every post. No offense Ed, but I was offended. We met at EastMeet4, didn't we? Why didn't you voice you disagreement with the stuff I did to my X there? I've had plenty of detractors of the mods I've done. All of them wisely chose to e-mail me instead. They had their opinions and I had mine. Like I tell all of them, "to each his own". Better yet, you live somewhere in NY, why not e-mail me and we can arrange a talk on the phone or something else? BTW, aftermarket auto accessories are a billion dollar industry worldwide. Plenty of stupid people around blowing all their pennies, I guess.

If you wanted to hot-rod a ride, why not save all the pennies your putting into this X5 and get the M5???

What I do with my pennies really doesn't concern you, does it? Since you need to know, I don't care for the M5. I live in Manhattan and a stick vehicle doesn't make much sense to me. This goes back to my personal opinion and taste. I'm not "hot rodding" my X, I'm tailoring it to my personal appeal. This also goes back to my personal taste.

What is there some neighbor with a vette that your tired of blasting passed you? You was at the East-Meet,the spokes person for BMW said "they didn't put a M motor in the 4.6
(which has a reinforce gear-box,beefed up tranny and a lower final gear ratio)
because IT JUST DOESN'T WORK." Do you think about the strain on the transaxle.
Or what about the gear box? I don't even think the body bolts could hold up.

My neighbors don't drive Corvettes. That would be lowering themselves. If I wanted to race Corvettes, I would have bought something else. That’s common sense, no??
Concerning the X5 4.6, if you were paying attention to the question posed to Martin Birkmann, he was responding to why the 4.6 is not an M and why did 4.6 owners receive letters from BMW stating otherwise. His answer was that M cars are mostly stick shift and that the 4.6, handling and otherwise, didn't meet these qualities to be designated an M vehicle. He also asked for someone to please give him a copy of this letter. Concerning the transmission in the 4.6, it is a 4.4 transmission with the following replaced or modified: higher stall torque converter and reprogrammed shifting points to compensate for the higher revolutions of the engine. The gear ratios for the front and rear differentials were changed from 3.64 to 3.91. This is all that was upgraded. No other strengthening. Internal ratios of the tranny are the same. But of course, if you find out different, please post your opinion and findings. Concerning the structural integrity of the X5, besides the roll cage and a few other modifications, the 700 hp LeMans X5 is running a stock chassis. I don't think a supercharger, turbocharger, or nitrous would worry leave or me me concerned about my chassis or, my body bolts?!

If you know anything about hot-rodding, you would
least consider these issues. And if your gonna do NOS, least you could do is mount
2 or them in an angle. Or are you considering trunk space? Never know when you need to get to the airport in 8secs flat. And get chrome ones. That shitty rusted blue tank looks like garbage.

Hmm, lets see. A nitrous oxide Mustang that ran 12.20's @ 113 mph in the quarter on bald goodyears, another Vortech blown Mustang that surpassed 160 mph on many occasions. I would say I know a little something about producing power or "hot rodding".
That was very observant. It is a shitty rusted blue tank. This goes back to point number one.

Listen all im saying is if you wanna spoof up your ride. Get rims,or a body kit. Personally I think little hop-ups like CAI, and Dinan chip is horseshit, for what?
A few extra HP? Sure stiffen up the ride with spring and strut bars that's great.
But you better do some major homework before you activate that switch.

I'm not into the wheels and body kit stuff. I can't justify the extra weight and rolling resistance of larger wheels and tires. Of all the body kits, AC Schnitzer, Hamann, Mutec, and Racing Dynamics my favorite is, none of the above. The factory 4.6 is more appealing to me because of its low-key qualities. Then again, this goes back to my personal taste. Yours is obviously different. Like I said, "to each his own".

As I said before I mean no offence to you personally, what ever tickles your balls enjoy. But youd better do some research before your ruin a $55g truck.
Ed

I did take it a bit personally. I'm sure if you read your post again, you'll understand why I was concerned about your wording.
My wife was also offended and has requested that you keep my balls out of this. LOL!
Again, what I do with my X really goes back to my personal taste. Really Ed, please choose your words a bit more carefully. I'm not the only one that does mods to his X and a few others were offended also. Really man, a simple e-mail to me would have let you in on the joke instead of posting a harsh opinion, which led to this post.

Tommy
