EFollowup on arlier post about holding the check engine button down for a few secs and a 21 step display comes up. Tried tonight, and yes, it does! I have no idea what I was doing or looking at. Here's what I did (all with key in pos 01):

Hold check engine button for a few secs. Displays "step" or "pos" 01 (don't remember). If you press again, shows step 02, again, step 03, up to 21. Here's the fun part. Once step 01 is displayed, press the trip reset button once. it displays some weird jibberish. Press trip again, more weird stuff. Looks like codes for a techician. Now press check engine, and step 02 displays. Press trip reset. Watch the show! All the lights on the dashboard light up and all of the analog gauge needles slowly move from far left to far right to far left, then they do it again. Finally the dash goes blank. Some sort of dashboard graphics test? press check engine and pos 03 displays. If you press the trip reset, it does what pos 01 does, but different weird jibberish. Continuing through the sequence, positions 04 thru 21 only display "lock on".

I could not get the service indicator graph to come up by holding the trip reset down a few secs, as reported by an earlier post. However, I do not have the full computer option.

Have fun! Anyone know what the jibberish means?

Bob
