YThey couldn't even get the cruise control on without alot of distractive work. NAV volume is control by the radio volume, but can only be adjusted when the NAV is speaking. Must go through many menus to access common functions. Scary, since BMW does not complete the implementation of electronic technology very well. A good idea yurns ugly during implementation for a few years.

Autoweek could not understand why the basic user interface for many common function was changed and made harder and more distracting to control for no apparent reason. If it isn't better, was the change just for change sake? They wondered why this was the case when the driver being in control is such a high priority for BMW, yet even after a many days, tehy couldn't even get the cruise to work they way they wanted it to. I imagine owners will say, "why is it doing that," or "why can't I get it to do what I want it to do." This sounds familiar to me, as I even say that about the X5.
