I am in the process of getting my 2001 X5 trim painted to match the Titanium Silver on the rest of the truck. I do have a little experience from my previous vehicle; a silver 1999 Lincoln Navigator. I had that truck done from one week after I received delivery. The body shop sanded the trim, added a flex agent to the paint and then applied. I drove that truck from Long Island to Mount Snow, VT for 3 ski seasons and over 50,000 miles ans ended up with not one chip. The body shop will be repeating the process on my X5. I hope this helps a little. Good luck!
Greg
