x5 wouldn't start-cant type worth a f*%K (archive)

Wed night after stopping at the dry cleaners to pick up my clothes I tried to statrt my X5. The engine spun over fine but never even attempted to start, it seemed like a total ignition system shutdown. I left it, walked across the stret and had dinner, came back an hour later-still nothing. I called BMW road service and two hours later a wrecker came and I tried again right before loading and nothing. Yesterday BMW service calls to ask what is wrong with my car that was dropped off and I tell them and they say it starts right up-they are baffled. Any one else had a similar event.
