Auto Headlight... question for Digi (archive)

Hey Digi,
Ready for the stupid question of the day? Thought so... well, here it is anyway... I have '01 X5 3.0, not Xenon... The bigger lamp is on any time you drive, but the real headlight has to be turned on with the knob. Doesn't this car have an auto headlight sensor, like the rain-sensor on the wiper?
