Jim Jim Jim Jim Jim. I have to say that I really do feel sorry for you. It is very obvious that you are suffering from a severe case of buyers remorse. You see Jim, I don't bother to look at message boards about the Honda MDX, because I have no interest in the car. I test-drove the car while looking for a vehicle, and that was it, end of story ----- didn't like it and could care less about what those who had purchased one have to say about theirs. This is because I knew that I had made the right decision on my vehicle purchase and have not for one second wondered if I should have gone with the Honda. I'm going to go out on a limb here Jimmie and say that you are probably satisfied with your choice, but still not sure if it was the right choice. If you were totally satisfied, you would have no reason to visit this forum and desperately seek those who will support your opinions and answer your question; "did Jim make the right decision?".
Jimbo, there are many websites that will support your decision, and there are many websites that will support mine. For example if you were to go to Epinions.com you would see that of the 30 BMW X5 owners reviewed, 100% recommend their vehicle, and of the 23 Honda MDX customers reviewed, 91% recommend theirs. Could it be that you fall into that 9% that truly would not recommend theirs? Only you know the answer to that question James, and, thankfully, only you have to live with it.
My condolences, ap4.

I hate to say it ap4, but you are suffering from a condition that is known as "projection" in psychology. Projection is defined as the attribution of one's own attitudes, feelings, or desires to someone else as an unconscious defense against anxiety or guilt. That is to say, it is you who has anxiety for the choice he has made - not me. You're the guy (not me) who needs the support of others to certify that his decision was correct! That's why you surf this board as much as you do, but when you spot a post that contradicts your preconceived notions about the X-5, you can't handle it. It's not that I don't understand your angst after reading Consumer Reports and what it said about the X-5's poor reliability. All I can suggest to you ap4, is do some research next time that goes beyond the BMW TV commercials.

Like I said before, a point can only really drive home and get people upset when it is the truth, and that's when the abuse really begins.
