Closing the lower rear hatch door? (archive)

I've noticed that I have to slam the lower rear hatch door to get both sides to latch properly. If I close it gently then only the left latch closes and the right side of the door shows some movement if I pull it.

Is this just a matter of getting the dealer to adjust the latch mechanism or is it something I can do myself? Anybody else had this feature (it's not a problem!)?
