After rebate my directv dish & tuner were free and I pay $38/mo for around 200 channels, a dozen local channels and 50 music channels with excellent digital quality. In the fall I get NFL season ticket for $138. And I recently upgraded to directv with tivo (dual tuner) so I watch what I want, when I want it. Screw cable.


Charter Cable in my area is now basically blackmailing everyone into getting digital cable and to be honest the costs seem to increase every few months. Im paying over 50 bucks for extended cable and a few premium channels.

I just checked out the Dish TV site and it seems like a very good deal. Does anyone use this? Is it true that you cant get local stations?

Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
