Thanks for the additional info. My current car is a '96 M3 - which has been a great car for 6 years. I'm selling it to a friend from Scottsdale, AZ.
I also got the comfort seats - they don't seem to look as nice as the sport seats (the leather in particular doesn't seem to fit as nicely) but comfort seats seem to befit an SUV better. Your opinion on the comfort seats?
I agree that one of the main visual treats on the 4.6 are the wheels, and I'd like to find a winter solution that lets me keep the stock wheels. Maybe there will be Pilot A/S in 315 by then - or worst case I could get rear 285s...
Any stated reason the instructor said "no" to taking the 4.6 on the deep mud autocross?
Did you make any effort to vary speed during drive home? Any great BBQ places near Spartanburg (I love authentic BBQ)?
Eric
Eric,
Thanks. I have Estoril Blue with Black Nappa comfort seats. Titanium trim. Also have navigation system. Even though I was able to take 4.6is off road,we did not go in any real heavy mud, just rock climbing, thru 20 inches of water and deep rutted trails. The instructor would not let me take it on off road/deep mud autocross event. Tires did very well on offroad sections and on wet/dry pavement. I did not ask about snow tires. I live in Houston,TX and we rarely get snow/ice here. I would be interested in an all season tire like pilot sport, but want to keep stock sizes all around. Enjoy your new X5 4.6is, I having a blast driving it . Have about 1400 miles now in 5 days, but 953 of that put on 1 day drive back to Houston. Awesome on highway, hard to keep under 80 mph, no bogging down thru hilly/mountainous areas.
