those with HALO lights, question about plastic.... (archive)

To install the halo lights on your X5, didn't they have to remove the front plastic cover in front of your xenons/high beams to do the installation? The dealer tells me you can't replace this cover and that it is one part completely because it is sealed shut. I want to remove the plastic piece to clean it out from moisture which entered behind both headlight fixtures. But I'm wondering if it is possible to put back on and have it sealed tight. So, didn't they do this for your halo installation? Thanks.
